The 180 fits on a 3 inch rim, It does bulge alot but looks really nice. That being said I think the fender on my FXDX is only wide enuff for a 160. The 06 up Dynas have a wider rear fender though.

Finished this same set up on a 2007 FXDB switching to 2005 FXDX Wheels. Some things I found out:
Bearings definitely fit for 1" Axle. Just picked up a Wheel Installation Kit For the front and rear (P/N# 43848-08A & 43861-08A $70 each) and used a homemade bearing press (3/4" Threaded Rod with Nuts and about 10 washers-under $10). Put the bearings in the freezer overnight and used a bit (re:alot) of Anti-sieze and they slid in perfectly.
Spun on some ME880s and Plasti-dipped them. The Rear wheel fit perfectly with the stock spacers, but the front wheel hub is (as noted before) thinner than stock. Hopped along to the machine shop and they made me up some 1.050" Spacers using the stock ones for templates. Once the wheel was bolted up and good to go, I needed to get the calipers (plural-more on that later) to fit on a wheel with a smaller hub. I used some cheap washers to space them out appropriately (about a 1/4" or so) and that was that. 200 Miles so far.
