Default 16" ape hangers

hey guys, im running the stock mini apes on my 04' wide glide.my wondeful wife got me a set of 16", 1 1/4" thick apes for christmas. so my question is ive noticed wire extetnsions on ebay that measure 48". these should work right? i wanna run them internal and also relocate the turn signals to the forks tokeep the bars clean. also does anyone know what length i will need for everything else? weather has been great here so far in milwaukee so i would love to get this done soon before the cold gets here and the garage is freezing.

thanks in advance

You shouldn't need more than a handful of inches for jumping up to 16". Perhaps you saw a replacement harness instead of a harness extension? If you know your stock bar height, just add the inch(s) difference your new bars will make and that'll put you in the ballpark for cables and lines.

you can get the extensions that are color coded to match the stock wires, could help in the future if you have to trouble shoot an electrical problem. My 16's required 10" over throttle & idle cables.I measured the brake line and clutch cable according to how I planned to run them and bought the appropriate length at the local HD dealer

+4 should be plenty for the cables. JP cycles sell a wire extension in various lengths also...I have the same bars on my FXD...I love em...

I went +8 on my throttle and idle and front brake lines...+10 on the clutch cable..went over so much for the future....prolly going to get 3 or 4 inch risers and will have room to move!! I do not know how much over I went on the eletrical, just picked up some wiring and wired it myself! going to try to find the extentions, that are color coded due to the markings that I put on them to tell what is what is disappearing
