I've got Fox Creek saddlebags. Cheaper than HD's. My '06 FXDCI has a detachable sissy bar, so I had to drill a 1" hole in the plastic saddle bag back so that the bags fit flush when NOT using the back rest. When using the sissy bar, the bags stick out about an inch on top.

However, I just bought an '07 Bob solo seat. Interested to know how throw over saddlebags are secured when not using the two up setup.

Solo seat from HD was $299 catalog. However, buy a replacement stock Bob seat and cost was $105 with HOG membership. The parts guy said the catalog solo seat had "thicker padding". Worth $194?

I drilled a hole in my yoke slip it under the seat tab and just srew it down it doesn't move at all.

 

Dumb question here, but, can one use throwovers without those brackets on the side???

Once again .... thanks on the pics and the discussion here guys. Bikes look great. I'm looking forward to getting some bags on the bike .... the group I ride with rarely makes trips that arent 250 - 400 mile days .... which means I need some storagespace.

Does anyone have pics of their bike with solo seat and saddlebags? There was a Sportster in the holiday flyer Harley sent out with that look .... I liked it .... was wondering whether anyone around here had pics of a Dyna with that configuration?
