Update on the Susie "Chopper transformation"
Hello!
Just thought I'd give an update for those that have either been keeping track of my ramblings, or just want to read about....
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I bought a Sportster 1200 Custom Chrome disc rear wheel for Susie, and got a complete 1" rear wheel bearing kit from J&P Cycles, so when I stick it on her, she will be completely new! The wheel only has 5K miles, and is MINT!!!! Will also go with new tread, and will sell/give away the existing tire on it.[&:]
Got a Narrow hub 21" front wheel, with a chrome plated hub, spokes, nipples, and rim...everything triple chromed! BEAUTIFUL according to Dad, as I am still doing my stretch in Korea. Will get a new H/D Dunlop as well! I went ahead and got chrome button head bolts for the other side of the hub to make it look pretty.
Got my second set of tins!!!! Cost $650+, [&o],....but got a rear fender with only 50 miles on it, a tank with the console etc. in MINT condition, and a new CCI front fender, which I will re-drill to slam it down on the front pizza cutter! (on Ebaymotors).
Will be getting my 2nd set of tins painted by Attitude Custom Painting #340, which is a black base with yellow faded to orange flames, with yellow candy sprayed over, and billet bar and shield emblems! Go to their website and check it out! Type in #340, and you'll see what i'm going for! Real Old Skool hot rod! HELL YA!
Next, will be the AME Chopper Kit front end, 14 Degree with 6 inch over tubes. Will go with the 41 mm tube upgrade and chromed brake caliper option. ( probably go down to 3/4 axle instead of the '04-05 change to 1 inch axle, as my new front wheel is already set up for 3/4....).
Then chromed stock rear caliper, polished brake rotors (cross laced style)and button head mounting bolts. I'm sticking with the stock black pulley, as I like chrome, but not THAT much! I prefer shiny, polished paint!!!
MAYBE go to 13" Ape's with chrome switches, and braided lines.
Of course, I will give you guys on the forum first "dibs" on my blue tin set, to include the Arlen Ness front fender, etc. before it goes to Ebay to help offset the costs. Other parts as well, front-end, etc.
Why am I doing this? Because I originally was going to build another chopper, in addition to Susie, but decided, to hell with it, I'll chop out my Susie!!!! I'm a chopper guy at heart!
