Thumbs down Laid It Down Tonight

The ironic part is, I just commented to a friend of mine tonight how people drive like ********* in Wichita but I had managed to avoid it. Go figure as I went through the last light before I got to my apartment some jerkoff in a truck cut me off, and did not stop. It was go down or high side it and hit him, so I laid it down. Handlebars are a little bent, right side mirror is trashed, both right side pegs are messed up, brake pedal and hand control are both bent and rashed up, and the worst part of it, to me, is my black Thunderheader is all scraped up. I love that pipe. Anyway that's what I was able to identify as damaged in a dim garage tonight, I'm not looking forward to seeing it in the daylight tomorrow.

As for me, I was able to jump right back up on a shot of adrenaline I think, stand it up and restart it, and get it to the garage. My hip and right foot are absolutely throbbing and my right arm is torn up, but I'll live.

Sucks, because now my mods budget for the next couple months is going to be going into fixing what was fine when I left to ride tonight. Somehow, I managed to avoid the three other ****ers that cut me off over the course of the day, but the one that got me was right before my neighborhood at 15 miles an hour. Ride safe guys.

I guess insurance could cover it if I put in for it, but I don't want my rate to go up. I'm sure my deductible is less than what it would cost replace the pipe and some other parts, but rates going up is long term significance.

A$$hole drivers are everywhere. In Portland too. And they very seldom say "sorry" for cutting you off.

Main point is you are OK and will ride again. That is priceless

Bummer about laying it down. I've been down at 55mph.

Hope the lessons you take away from this will protect you in the future.
