It is a rigid mount, plastic tub bottom, back and ends. Lid latches with four snaps and a boat load of velcro.

Interesting, so $700 for two plastic boxes covered with fake leather, I wonder what those cost to make in China?

Couldn't decide which bags a couple of weeks ago myself.
Went with the leather pro's. The quick detach was a big selling point. no rattle at all.
Can use with QD sissybar or anything else. Comes with all hardware for different setups.

I got the leatherpros. Install took about 30 min including reading instructions. Goes on and off in a heartbeat. No rattle. I couldn't be happier (but also have nothing to compare with)
