I push in the swing arm bolt (#16) enough to remove the spacer(#17).

My indy quoted $400 in labor so I’m sure the dealership would be more.

Good for you man!! Harleys are nice and simple to work on and like I said, I don't work on them for a living but with a service manual and a fairly small supply of tools I rebuilt the trans on mine. You must have enough mechanical know how that you know how things work and when you take a Harley apart you can see there's not that much there.

The best way to answer that question is to contact the dealer you plan on using for that particular maintenance. Dealers across the country charge different hourly rates so what you may pay, I might pay less or more.

I'm actually glad I jumped in here. You do learn something new about the different models all the time.

I was in and out of my primary at least 6 times in the past couple of years with all the work I've done. I hate tackling the inner primary. Last year I had the tranny rebuilt in the bike and I stripped it for the indy to overhaul the tranny. I dread digging into it anymore. I tackle all I can but there are some jobs that I consider critical, and require a lot of specialized tools, so I take it in for some things. This time around I'm fighting some seal leaks. Never ends does it?

Also ... I'm glad you had experience. Too many take on projects that they can't handle on these machines. It's some serious sh*t when a repair fails going down the road.
