SEAT- leather vs vinyl
I just got an email from lepara and they are now taking ordersfor 06 dynas. I am going to order onei think i want to go leather but was wanting some input as to how leather compares to vinyl. I prefer leather but have heard that vinyl is better on a seat. Any feed back would be greatly apprieciated, thanks.

RE: SEAT- leather vs vinyl
I have both. My stock vinyl seat has 40k miles on it and still looks good. My leather seat has 24k on it and has wrinkled a bit. It still looks good. One thing the leather does that the vinyl doesn't is hold water. Everytime I wash my bike or let it sit in the rain, I have a wet *** for a while.
Leather is gonna wrinkle and show age marks. If you don't mind that, go for the leather.

RE: SEAT- leather vs vinyl
If I had my choice, leather also. Both of my seats are currently vinyl, which is nice in the crappy weather as only one soaks up any water. My Mustang has the stock 1-piece cover on it (for now) and my custom solo has pattern stitched into it.While it looks good, I didn't realize it at the time, but water will seep down through each little stitch hole and cause a massive wet butt in a driving rain storm. It takes a while for everything to dry out.
Leather generally needs more care, but over time, it ages and looks better, all broken in.
