Default front brake has popping sound when i press the handle

i have noticed more and more that my front brakes as i press on them that they have a popping sound. At first I thought i got a flat tire because of the pop noise. It only pops once when i press on the brakes. I have about 5k miles on my bike and have not messed with the front brakes.
Any ideas?

check that all the fasteners on the brakes are tightened to specs. are you sure the noise is not coming from the steering head?

I've heard clicking, rattleing, squealing and grinding noises from brakes but have never heard a popping noise. Can you isolate and define the noise a little better?

what speeds are you hearing this noise? My front rotor is a floating rotor and makes a sort of popping sound when i apply the brake....but i wouldn't hear that at high speeds

Default Try This

Sit on your bike, put on front brake, then push back on bike, then push forward on bike. Do you hear it when you do this? Back then forward then back with brake applied?

Sounds like air got into the master cylinder. Check everything for tightness, if you're losing effectiveness, you may need to re-bleed it. Not as difficult as it sounds, one of those cheap advance auto brake bleeders helps.

Thinking maybe a loose rotor or steering head?

I have a 2011 super glide custom that also has pipping sound when I apply the front brake. Have checked the basic things but have not been able to find the problem, may have to take to the dealer.

If the mounting bolts on the caliper aren't secure, the unit will pop as it's pulled forward by the brake disk when the brakes are applied. When you tighten things up, pay particular attention here. Hope this helps.

That's what I was thinking. Start with one, tighten everything, and then retest, if still doing it, then do the other and retest.
