Default Holy Crap

I picked up my Dyna today, almost took out a curb leaving the previous owners house. Went around the neighborhood a while and got a bit more comfortable. It took my wife telling me to turn front wheel like a bicycle before I could turn easy. I guess I listened a little to much from people I know telling me how to turn, I was leaning but not steering. Didn't drop it. Maybe the ride tomorrow will go a lot smoother. It's time!

Ummm, get some instruction before you ride. If you keep following your wife's advice you will wind up high siding it screwing the bike and yourself up.

the rider safety courses are really a great idea. I enjoyed doing mine, even though I had been riding for 15 years. go slow and dont get hurt, or hurt your passenger.

I agree about the riders safety course. I took one last year and it was very informative and enjoyable. As long as you go into it "wanting" to learn something and not "thinking" you already know everything about riding.

I'm scheduled to take the class in 2 weeks, but I had to get the bike from the people I bought it from. My dad lives in the same neighborhood so I took it to his house. Trust me, I'm not about to hit the big streets before the class and I'm confident on the bike. I appreciate your concern though.

I....agree on the rider safety course. I also think lots of practice in an empty parking lot is a good idea too.
Did anyone see the new stats on the riders course? Turns out the graduates have a higher accident rate than the general rider population....Just sayin..

all good ideas. nothing beats a lot of practice in a parking lot though. that will teach you how to handle stop lights and turns. once youve mastered that work on curves. you can still do that in the parking lot. dont forget the cones that all of us had to go around. not a bad idea to set up something in the lot like a chalk mark to go around.
