Well I agree with almost everyone's opinions except the leaning thru turns. I've learned on Brit bikes years ago. I lean into almost every turn at speed. Might even hang off alittle on fast sweepers. Does the soul good. I'm not talking dragging my knees, *** hanging off stuff,
but my body is inline with the bike.
I....agree on the rider safety course. I also think lots of practice in an empty parking lot is a good idea too.
Did anyone see the new stats on the riders course? Turns out the graduates have a higher accident rate than the general rider population....Just sayin..
This is excellent advice and is exactly what I did after buying my Dyna even though I had a lighter and smaller bike years ago. I had also taken the riders course back then but the new Dyna was a handful at first for me. Went to a parking lot and practiced take off and stops, did some maneuvering, driving as slow as I could to gain balance and after 2 days of this I was much better prepared for the open road.
+1 on the safety course . Until then find yourself an empty lot such as a high school or church and go on the weekend and practice. (not during church service of course). Just take it easy and get a feel for the bike. Take someone with you just in case .
