I answered this question for me. For about two months I have been going back and forth between Ricor, Ohlins and Progressive 970s. I finally ordered Ricor. Seemed the best value for money and I like how they look. However, my decision was mostly based on guts feeling. According to the reviews they are all excellent shocks. I also got the Ricor Intiminators to upgrade the front suspension at the same time.

Haven't installed them yet. Weather is too good to allow any downtime.

I just ordered the Ricor shocks about a week ago. I was choosing between the same two as you. Honestly can't say exactly why I chose Ricor. Just read a ton and that's what I ended up doing.

Which Ohlins are in the low $600 range? If they exist I certainly missed them because I was interested in Ohlins.

I have 970s, the compression adjustment on the fly is real great for going from solo to two up.
