Aftermarket Shocks for 06 Streetbob

RE: Aftermarket Shocks for 06 Streetbob
I considered the 11" 412s for my '06 Street Bob but ended up going with a set of 11" MB Shocks instead. They drop the bike about an inch and look awesome (IMHO). The handling seems at least as good as the OEM shocks to me - if not better. But as mentioned in other threads you're going to sacrifice some ride comfort with 11" shocks. This is mostly over large bumps or potholes. The highway ride has been excellent tho. I have them about 1000 miles now and on some 200-300 mile runs. No regrets

I was think of getting the Progressive 412 11" shocks. I was looking at the J&P Cycles catalog and was wondering if these ones work with the 06 Street Bob since the main page on the 412's in the catalog lists that its for 1991-2005 Dynas.
Thanks!

Looks like I'd have to call J&P direct to try to find out which one is Progressive shock #412-4037 B (for black) or C (for Chrome). Got that number off the Progressive Suspension website.
After reading Psycho's other thread about shocks it looks like Eastern Performance has the cheapest price. So now I've got to contact them to find out if they carry the black version and at such a discounted price.
-----Turns out Eastern only carries the chrome version, but I found a seller on Ebay that's almost as cheap.

OK gents, looks like I'm joining the Progressive 412 11"club. I just picked up a [used] pair off eBay for $107.00. They look to be in great shape. So...
I didn't see any indication of it coming with (or needing) special bolts to replace the OEM ones. Will I be able to use my stock bolts?

I definitely like the lower feel of the bike on my bottom half. My *** sits better in my seat now. As far as the ride goes - and this is simply based on 20 minute ride on familiar streets - it's a noticeable improvement. I didn't notice any difference with respects to the whole "lower jiffy stand" thing. Seemed normal to me, so, I would say that shouldn't be a factor in anyone's decision to lower the rear end.
The only bummer was my left/top torx bolt (of course) was originally Red Loctited in place and stripped a bit trying to get it out. This only allowed me to get about 70lbs of torque on the reinstall when it called for 75-85lbs. Prolly not a big thing, but, I may go get a replacement just to be safe.
