[QUOTE=HD Bobber;9681754]...At this time we would suggest you go ahead and return tire for warranty so we can get it forwarded to Metzeler for inspection...

I don't see the problem you are having w/ this. They told you to return the tire. What company wouldn't?

My '09 has the ME880 on the rear (most excellent in every way) and a new front standing by. Much better than the stock Dunlops.

Here is the break down why that SUCK ***!
  1. I would pay for shipping to them(doubt they would cover that)
  2. + 3 day shipping or more
  3. + waiting for reply (maybe another week)
  4. no guarantee that after all that it will be covered
  5. mean while my bike will be on stand w/o a wheel
  6. finally either i pay for another tire or they warranty
Don't know bout you, but that all doesn't sound very pleasing as a customer. i don't have beef with motorcycle superstore cause they are the middle man and have AWESOME deals(although recognition of the problem and maybe an offer to further discount the tire would be good too.)

I said F that and ordered another Metz so I don't miss out on riding.

At my company we require photos too before warranty claims and 99% of the time even if it's not our fault we cover it or make an offer to please the customer.

Well this isn't very exciting to read... I have two brand new Motorcycle Superstore delivered Metzler ME 880 Marathon Touring tires in the garage waiting to get thrown on my new wheels this weekend. Hope they stay together!

Looks to me like you ran over something that took a chunk out of the tire.

How is that Metzeler's fault?

sorry i feel the same way as the comment above, unless the tread was peeling apart id just suck it up and get a new tire...metzeler is a good tire from what ive heard and i will most likely run metzelers when im due for tires next...

to be honest id still run the tire the way it was until the tread was worn pretty good....

He definetly ran over something. You can see a gouge in the missing chunk that is BELOW tread level. Only one way for that to happen.

I'd be pissed, too. Brand new tire, and this happens-sucks. But, definetly not Metzeler's fault.
