Unhappy So I need a new front tire?

OK, so I am freaking out a little...well not actually.

I did a search on tire age and came across a thread in the touring models section that basically stated 6 years should be the max for tires no matter the mileage or tread wear.

I went out and checked my tires and it looks like the rear must have been replaced last year as it is a 0211 and the front is original as it is a 3303.

So I guess I need a new front tire ASAP!

Question is: can I get any wider of a front tire without replacing the rim or doing any other mods?

Right now it has the stock tire 401F 100/90-19

Thanks!

110/90-19
I just put a new Metz this size , that is about as big as you would want for the fender.

A 110 may not fit on an older narrow glide. Make sure you get the manufacturers specs on width of what tire you are looking at. My stock dunlop measures about 4" wide. I'm looking at the Avon Venoms. The 100 by them measures 4.3 and the 110 measures 4.7". I don't think there is 4.7" of room on the older bikes. Mine looks like a little over 4.5". I think the Avon 100 with .3" more width will be noticeable.

First thing I did when I got my '03 last year was check the tire dates. Both OE from '03. New rubber on immediately. I believe 110 is as big as will work with fender.

Well get this...First the dealer told me I couldn't put 110's on my bike when I called them to make an appointment?

Then the parts guy wanted to sell me a GT502 even though I have a D401 on my ride now, front and rear...

I called back the next day and said I wanted the D401. I don't think he had a clue.

I really don't even want to take it there but they are only 2 minutes from the house.

If I was choosing tires now, I'd be buying Avon or Metzler instead of the Dunlop brand I bought last year.
