Default Fatter front tire on a new wide glide?

Does anyone know the widest tire you can use on a stock rim/fender for a 10-12 FXDWG? And, if anyone has done it, can you post a pic?

The widest tire you can get is a 90/90-21 on the stock rim which is only 2.15" wide. The difference between the 80 and 90 has been HUGE on my bike. I replaced the rear tire at the same time and went with a 18" so I honestly can't say if that had something to do with the handling as well, but...

It's a completely different bike. If search around, you'll see that everyone who has jumped to the 90 raves about the handling difference.

Thanks -- good info. Did you replace the tires when you bought the bike or did your orginals wear out? If so, how many miles did you get out of the stockers? Good to know as I plan things out...

Actually, I was one of the lucky few that had to have my stock front Dunlop replaced under warranty not once, but TWICE! I will never own another set of Dunlops! The third front tire was holding up pretty good. The rear was ready to be replaced so I went ahead and had them both replaced along with some new wheels. The front tire had maybe 3k and the rear had 9k. I probably could have got another 1k.

I'll guess half the difference you feel is just by dumping the Dunflops. Just that alone made a big diff. for me.
