Yup, I live in mid-Michigan and everyone seems to be happy with the decesion. I'll prolly just keep wearing my non-dot anyway. But that's the beauty, the right to choose!

The story I read said the law had conditions. 1) experienced rider over 21......2)had extra insurance. What does that mean? We already pay some kind of catastrophic injury insurance that hikes the rates. How are they going to know who wears a helmet or who doesn't? As usual, the lawmakers and insurance companies will find it easier to just raise the rates on everybody. I like having the choice too but lets see what happens to the insurance rates.

You have to have at least $20,000 in medical coverage either thru your motorcycle insurance or a private party such as health insurance thru your job

It's nice and surprising to see some part of the gov't here in the U.S. doing SOMETHING to preserve some freedom. Now they just need to do it down here in Missouri. Congrats.

Freedom!

I am of the "let the rider decide" camp, so a big congrats to Michigan residents.
