Default "El Mongrel", my Super Glide with a Heritage front end...

Some folks have been wanting to know how my project came out, at least the front end part, so here are some build pics, and some (almost) finished pics of my scoot that I have dubbed "El Mongrel"!

Build/mock up pics.

Here are some pics I snapped today.

'09 Super Glide with a chrome 2000 Heritage front end with a smooth fender, a Rick Doss custom head light, 20 inch apes, chrome controls and Avon grips.
After putting a few hundred miles on it, I absolutely LOVE it!
I've also got a set of hard backs (which I'm currently working on a mounting system for as soon as I can find a cheap set of latches) and a tour pack to be used for long trips (not mileage, time...for when I need to pack more).
The tour pack will be mounted for solo riding (meaning it will be mounted for me to lean on).
Stay tuned for more garage built, home grown custom work.
So there ya have it... Good bad or indifferent, What do the critics think?

I'm not a fan of that style front end, but I certainly appreciate the work you did. I turn all my own wrenches too. Nice job on your build. Those bars are way tall. I thought my 14's were big. Here's to making your bike yours cheers!

Cool. I'd love to run a wide glide front end with the cowbells and the nacelle stripped on mine. Wish they'd ditch the softail an bring back the FL.

Pretty cool, I don't think I could ride with those 20s, those are nuts. But I like the look.

I love it.
I wanted to do the same same to my Superglide but I bought a Ultra instead.
The bars are a little high for my liking but the bike really looks great
