Default Seat screw

Hi guys,
I went to take my seat off tonight, the seat screw just keeps turning and turning and won't undo, any ideas? Unfortunately it's dark here at the moment and I'm away from home. I put my hand under the fender and can feel something turning. Should I get some pliers and hold it while I turn the screw?

its just an insert, there is supposed to be a notch that it sits in to keep it from spinning,
you can probably get some needle nose pliers on the bottom to hold it

Yeah, Jeff's right, there is a "keyhole" in the fender that the "nut" fits in....there is a clip that holds the "nut" into the "keyhole to keep it from spinning. Just a guess but I'm betting you turned it a little bit and it got loose before it started spinning, and if that's the case the clip has broken and isn't holding the "nut" in the "keyhole" any more...(the clip is plastic). Just hold it with pliers and loosen the screw. You can pick a new nut/clip combo from the stealership for a few bucks.
The one and only time this happened to me, I actually bought 3 of them when I went to get a new one, and now I've got a couple of spare in my toolbox....but I own multiple bikes too so it makes since for me to have a few on hand.

grab the screw with some pliers then turn it a bit and lift, turn and lift until the key lines up, when it does you will have to keep lifting as you turn.
