Hey guys, not sure where to post this so here goes:

I installed the Harley smoke signal kit on my 09 Street Bob. For reasons unknown, Harley includes 4 amber bulbs, instead of 2 red, 2 amber. The issue is my rear signals are tied into the brake light so when I brake, my brake light fires up WITH 2 amber bulbs, which to me, looks stupid...SO, I purchased 2 red Kuryakyn bulbs for the rear and they look identical and are the right model number, but the do not stay in the bullet signal housing. I thought I was crazy but sure enough when I try the amber bulb Harley included, they pop right in and stay in. What's the problem here?

$20 for 2 Kuryakyn bulbs and they don't fit? WTF!!

And for the people who say go to Walmart or Autozone...I went to 8 stores today...no one carries the 1156 bulb in red in MA.

It's just frustrating that the Kuryakyn bulbs push in and turn but dont seem to catch like the Harley supplied ones do so they just pop back out of the bullet enclosure. For $20, I was pretty pissed this afternoon, I actually hope I was putting them in wrong, but the others went in with no issue so...

 

Not sure what the problem is, but I can tell you that if Kuryakin sent me $5000 worth of stuff, I'd ask my city for an extra trash bin.

 

How about a better question...why does Harley make a smoked signal kit that doesn't take into account the rear signal lights being integrated into braking? Anyone else think it look odd to have 2 amber bulbs light up when you apply the brake? Am I being too **** here? Lol
