Default Spark Plugs, one year later

There is so much talk here about how lean the factory bikes are. I swap out my plugs every year for new ones. These came out last night and they have 8000 kms on them. I have a 06 with a SE a/c and pipes with the Harley download.

Keep in mind the camera flash whitened up the porcelain quite a bit. Look at the base on the plugs to get an idea of the tan colour.

How long did you let it sit around and idle before you shut the engine off? When I raced circle track to check the plugs I would hit the kill switch going a crossed the flag stand, then get pushed back to the pits. That way you check them under true conditions with out the idling and everything else that would make the plugs darker then they actually are.

True, the only reliable way to check mixture by reading plugs is to be running at normal speed and shut the engine off. As soon as you decelerate or let it idle, it will show a little different reading (richer)

I didn't. I always shut it off as I role up to my garage. There is no idle time at all.
