Default Progressive front drop/ bag rear = wacky fuel gauge?

Just curious if anyone experienced this. Not sure why because I lowered both ends, but my fuel gauge is reading empty and I'm only filling up with 3.5 gallons. On 12 FXDC.

I have the HD flush caps and the speedo/tach combo. I know not to trust them. What milage should I go by though before fuel for any type of riding...175?

fuel gauges suck, mine hits half when its only a gallon low. when my low fuel light comes on I still have 1.2 gal left. I usually fill up around 160 miles

You need to figure it out for your ride, that is what the trip odo is for, Get yourself one of these and ride her till she coughs. I carry one of these on road trips as mileage can vary depending on what RPM range I cruise in.

Why not adjust the float in the tank to bring it closer to the right reading

Likely easier said than done! As long as the thing is consistent then you know how far to go.

That's the thing. I want to know when around I'm in the red zone. I figure 170 I should be safe?
