Default Should I be worried?

So here's my bike it's a '99 Superglide with fatbob exhaust. It's my first HD and I scraped my pipes yesterday for the first time. Is this common on HD's to scrape exhaust? Will it make a difference if I lower the front end? I lowered the back 2"'s this winter.

Wow, How far were you leaning? Or did you hit a curb? JK LOL.
Not to worry, but don't do it to often, you'll loosen something.

The rear of that exhaust does look very low when compared with the Fatbob it's from.

i think you answered your own question. you lowered your bike 2" over the winter. the lower you go, lowers your exhaust as well.

I had it over pretty good but I thought I'd have more room.

I almost took a promo offer on a fatboy last summer, but when my dealer told me it would automatically scrape the ground sooner being a lower bike I just about snapped something turning away from it! If you have an aggressive riding style you may want to raise that back end back up some.

just check the mounting bolts where the pipes mount to the bike all around . you should be fine . You will scrape more with a lowered bike as others have mentioned. Lowered bikes look great but do scrape the exhaust more. You might try lowering the front end one inch and the back one inch. Might help you scrape less. If you ride aggressively though the twisties you will probably scrape something once in awhile anyway.

I have scraped my pipes so many times, on my sporty and 99 fxdx, i quit counting. Never hurt anything. Yeah, one time i hit my pipe in a curve so hard on the sporty that the pipe hit the rear pulley and scratched the pulley and that is it. Never even had to tighten anything.
