Default sissy bars

just got a nice tax return and decided to get a custom sissy bar made for my fxdb. i think i want something big, like 30" chrome with a bend at the top. i wouldn't mind seeing what people have so I can see what different sizes and styles look like. thanks.

I'll post up as I too am thinking of a sissy bar that I could put on for longer trips to strap things too, some flat black round bar, something like this. I don't like the standard ones with the big flat iron pieces on the sides.

Check out my sig or my garage. 30" chrome with a bend at the top.

It's a Cyclevisions item with Harley rigid sideplates.

I like that allot, I roll on a solo seat all the time, and am not sure what it would look like with a sissy on it, I'd want to be in the 18"-25" range I think, I just don't like the look of those flat side plates, I think I am going to get a metal shop to make something for me that has the plate for mounting along the strut that uses both holes on each side but is hidden behind the strut. I love the bend at the top, it looks great on your bike!

Something like this would be what I'd be going for. Might have to pick up some round iron and some flat iron and just make my own.

Use the '11+ WideGlide stock sissybar, take it to a fab shop and have the bar redone. The sideplates hide behind the strut covers.

Got mine from Top Hand Ventures on ebay. I have the 24" chrome. Super strong, great quality.

Ya that's kinda what I figured $300, for $40 worth of iron, and a little of my time. I think it's time for me to make my own. SGH yours looks good, that is the style I would like probably a bit taller and no cross brace. I'll be sure to post up the process and end results when I get things going.

Got mine from a guy on Ebay out of Texas that makes them. He makes them without the crossbar for mounting a pad but I had him add one. Once I got it I loved the sissy bar but hated the look with the pad. Think I paid $325.
