Question going too a 21" front wheel; what width rim?

If you were to change to a 21 front wheel, what width (rim and tire) would you go too?

The reason I ask is because I have read on here about riders going to a wider rim and tire on the front (than the usual softy) and still maintaining the stability of the 19'.

I know Avon makes a wider front rubber that I think needs a 3.00' rim but am looking at a 'no fuss' conversion as it were, so any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd go with the wide myself. I like the look of my skinny , but am thinking the wider tire would handle more like a 19

I agree on the 21x3.25 with the 120/70. I've been running one for a while. I dig it.

Thanx for the responses; should ha mentioned, 2011 street bob is the bike.

The thing I should have asked is whether you lost much (or any) handling with the mod?

I have a 21x2.15 with a Metzler ME880 90/90 tire. It handles the same if not better then stock but that could be more from the tire because the Dunlop 19" tire is not that good. With that being said, if I could do it over again I would go with a 21x3.5 with a 120/70 Metzler ME880 tire.

I am going for the 2.15 with and 90 by90 tire, I like old school look. If you are going for handleing I would stick with 19 inch rim.

For you guys with the 120/70 21 tire on the 3.25-3.5" wide rim; Does your stock front fender fit over the tire?

It does fit. Southeast Custom Cycle offers a cut down fender that looks a little better than the stock fender in the bigger tire. They do it on an exchange.

I run a Hogpro 21x3.25 with the 120/70 Metzler 880. With a 120 tire though remember you will need a custom fender of around 5.5" width to fit in the wider tire. I run a RWD OCF 21" fender for my new front rim/tire combo. The handling to be honest feels no differant then stock and feels great. However the plus I love about the new setup is it doesn't follow road snakes like my stock tire did.
