Default Belt Guard ...

Who here has their belt guard either on or off their bike ...

I personally have mine off ! is there any reason why I should reconsider putting it back on ?

unless you ride where there is gravel and rocks on the roads you should be fine without the belt guard.

The only argument I've ever heard for leaving it on is keeping gravel/debris from damaging your belt. Specially if you do any dirt roading...

I took the top one off as I ride solo. The bottom is still on as I read that it keeps gravel and stones out, and I do ride in areas of gravel roads.

i was told Harley do not cover the belt if the guard is removed , thats the only reason i can see for keeping it .... as long as your trousers don't catch in the thing you will be fine .....

I cant imagine HD covering a belt (with or w/o a guard) any more than they would cover tires or brakes. Do a search and you will find lots of posts here about people running successfully without guards.

Id gladly get rid of mine but the roads here would eat belts like breakfast. Enjoy having it off your bike.
