Default How do you remove chrome band from battery cover

Anyone know how to remove the chrome band from the battery cover on a 2010 FXDC? It doesn't have the 3 tab thingies that you simply squeeze with pliers to remove it. It has what looks like 2 chrome rivets.

Also, the chrome band on the fuse panel cover. How does that come off? Is it held on with adhesive or adhesive tape?

I just used a heat gun in the back to soften the double sided tape and it came right off. The I was able to reinstall it without new tape.

What P69 said.............. and if the one has rivets, you need to drill the head of the rivet to allow the band to pop free.

I think they are just studs used for alignment not rivets. Use a heat gun or hairDryer and see if the adhesive will losen up

Heat gun or hair dryer and fishing line works good

Not sure what one you have but the newer style has 4 Allen bolts that hold it on. I know because I just removed the trim ring
