Default quick detach sissy bar vibration solved

I have the tall quick detach sissy bar w/pad on my FXDC...part # 52300044 & 52631-07(pad).

It has rattled a little bit at town speeds (25-35mph) since I bought the bike new. Certain speeds/rpms make it vibrate/rattle at the back where the quick detach parts attached to the signals. For some reason this has gotten progressively worse lately, maybe because it has been in the 80s here & things have expanded.

This has been driving me crazy, so I started looking at it last night for a solution. I tightened everything up more and test rode...same thing. SO, I took it off and was looking where the quick detach parts clip on the signals & was trying to come up with something to isolate it and absorb the vibration/rattle.

I found a toll of Teflon thread tape in my tool box & it was the exact same width as the mounts, so I started experimenting. In the end, I ended up making 14 tight wraps around the mount with the thread tape. Any more and the snaps would not close to lock it in place. You can't even see it on there & it's not visible at all. The vibration/rattle is completely gone!

For those of you with quick detach sissy bars, if yours vibrates or rattles try this...it works!

Thanks for the suggestion.

I think I had used electrical tape before. But, that is a PITA to take off. The thread tape sounds like a good fix with no permanent alterations.
