I was wondering if any of you might know if a tank for an 08 FXDCI is the same as the one on a 07 FXDL. They look alike but I wanted to make sure.

The difference in tanks is the console and how they mount. No those 2 are not the same, although if you are considering a swap, they will interchange, you just need the console that goes with the tank you are putting on the bike.

 

I think the Street Bob and Low Rider used the same tank in 07.

I have already installed a wideglide console on my tank. I had to bend the ears on the plate the console mounts to. If that plate is all that is different I can order one of those.

 

The FXDC and older FXDWG (04-08) console are one in the same, so yes you can make it all work.

Which tank are you putting on which bike?

 

I laid my lowrider down this last Friday night. It needs a new tank. I found one for sale for $550 off an 08 FXDCI. So I was going to buy that tank and put it on.

 

You have an FXDC console on your LR now? If so piece of cake.

 

Thanks for the help. I found out this afternoon that the insurance is going to pay to get the bike fixed. I have to talk with the dealership to see what they have to say about me providing the tank.

 

When I had my accident my insurance let me do all the work myself. GEICO They paid a sum up front then settled the additional cost after it was back on the road, simple with no problems.
