Default brand new bike dead battery?

Hi all. I just bought a 07 street bob. Rode it on dec.17. On dec.23 it has a dead battery. It has the alarm. Dealer never told me about using a battery tender. So I hooked it up and now have flashing amber light. Is my battery completely dead? I am at a loss for words. I owned a 1987 yamaha and
never ever had to charge a battery.

Something's wrong here. I bought my bike in August and went three weeks without even starting it and still never had battery problems. It's not terribly cold here but one week is pretty ridiculous.

The dealer isn't covering a replacement battery under warranty?

Six days should never kill a battery. Have the dealer check it out.

I've let mine sit for 3 weeks once and it fired right up, i don't have a battery tender nor do i intend to buy one. I live in CA and riding is pretty much year round, so i wont be storing it. Your battery is bad which happens, and the dealer should replace it for free. I bought my Ford Ranger back in 2002 brand new, and it was in the storage area, and had been sitting there with a dead battery for a few months, and nobody bought it cause it was dead. I didn;t care it was exactally what i wanted, color, motor everything, and they put a new battery in it while i sigined the paperwork. Somtimes, batteries are defective.

I fired up my Superglide in my garage after about 2-3 weeks of sitting. It has been 30 deg in the evenings here in Oklahoma and after hitting the button it struggled but it turned over so I let it idle for about 5-10 min.. No battery tender either. Definitely a defective battery, or a short somewhere that is draining it..

Ya might want to have someone take a look at the wiring on your alarn to make sure it isn't putting a constant draw on the battery.

Amber flashing means the tender is getting power but battery is not taking the charge.

Solid amber means the battery is charging.

Your battery is toast.

Bring it to dealer.

I've gone a month not starting the 'Bob (while riding the others) and no battery drain. 1 week should never drain anything. Take it in and have them run a diag on everything.

Something isn't right. It's under warranty. Sendit to the dealer for diagnostic work.
