Default Lowering/jiffystand question...

Do I need a shorter kickstand if I'm lowering the rear ONLY of my Fat Bob 1.5 inches? I just got some Burly Slammer shocks from UPS today, and they came about 5 days faster than I thought they would. Thanks for any help folks.

I've asked around and the replies are 50-50. Just got to watch where you park the bike so it doesnt lean to much.

I got the 1" lower stand, but it's not needed.

I lowered my Low Rider, shorter shocks, by 1“ but now I usually need to lean my bike way over towards the right to get the jiffy stand all the way down and forward. I'm considering a shorter stand.

With 10.5 Burley shocks it stood OK (a little to straight up for me to feel comfortable with), so I put a 1" shorter kick stand on it, and it has good lean.

I took off 13" shocks on my '99 superglide and put on 11.5" then 11's. I didn't have a problem with the 11.5 but the 11's required that I push the bike over quite a bit to lift the stand. I have a 1" shorter stand that I'm gonna try when I get around to it. Try the new shocks then decide.

My SB is lowered 1 in. with stock kick stand, some time in the future when money loosens up i'll get a shorter one but you don't really need it.

got the Burly's on the back, front is stock. I do have to lean the bike a little further to the right to get the stand down, but the bike sits just fine on it, been a year and a half and haven't been in a situation yet when I thought I needed a shorter stand.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm just gonna give it a shot with the stock stand and decide afterwards.

I lowered my rear with no issues but when I lowered the front a few months later I definately had to mod the jiffy stand by grinding the tab off a little. Or you can buy a new shorter stand.
