.
I installed them today. I don't think I NEED a shorter stand but it sits a little straighter than I'd like it too. I'll probably end up getting one.

I had 11" 440's on my bike and didn't like the lean angle so I got a jiffy that was 1" shorter from J&P. My current rear shocks are 11.5" and you might be able to tell in my sig pic that the bike leans a lot. BlacknSilver raises a good point in post #10. You can increase the lean angle by altering the stock stand. I think there are some pics of this alteration in the 'Under 50 Bucks" sticky at the top of the page.

Yeah I'm back and forth on this one. If I modify the stand, I can't UN-modify it. If I ever get sick of the lower shocks and I want to put my stock ones back on, well, you see where I'm going with this.

Lowered my street bob rear and front. Ground the tab on the stand and leans fine.

like everyone else. lowered the bike and felt a little uneasy in some parking spots.
I just got the shorter stand. It does make a BIT of a difference. Only bad thing about the new stand is that it can be a little tricky to find, when it's up (that's what she said ), and wearing boots.
If i don't get used to it... I'm thinking of one of those extensions. They look lame... function over fashion.

Hey, marcocruzer-

Here's my solution to findin' the shorter stand. Bend the 'bobby pin' end of the stand...I used a 3 lb hammer...it took just a few gentle blows to bend that last bit parallel to the floor. Net result??? It sticks out just enough to catch it w/ your shoe. If this explanation isn't clear, ask for a pic and I'll shoot one and post it.

I felt a bit upright in certain parking conditions, so used torch to heat the stock jiffy and added a little extra bend. Careful though don't need too much.

11" rears stock front. have to lean right quite a bit to get stand down but it sits fine for most part. Gets a little tricky when the suds start decreasing my equalibrium

Just buy a 1" lower stand. Cheap insurance. Don't have to worry about a strong wind. Dropped my rear 2", installed a 1" lower stand. Did I need it probably not. Do I worry about it sitting to straight up. NOPE.
Peace of mind, priceless.
