Default Stock Shock size??

I am looking to lower my 1995 FXDL at least an inch. Does anyone know the stock shock size? Would 12 inch progressive 412 get me where I want to go?
Thanks

If you go on progressives website and enter your bike info, they will tell you your stock size.

Stock shock length on a 95 FXDL is 12.5 inches. The 12 inch shocks should drop the rear a little more than just the half inch difference in shock length.

I'm going to have to measure what's on there. Right after I got the bike a few weeks ago. I dropped it off at a shop to get it inspected and asked them to look into lowering it. They were looking for a lowering kit but said they don't make one for my year and the only thing I can do is put on shocks. They said the shocks on there are 13.5 inches, could that be right?

Check the link above, but I doubt it.

What is the best way to measure the shocks? I think someone put on aftermarket shocks to raise the bike. Now that I see the picture attached I see a progressive sticker on the shock.( The bike is on the kickstand and has all the clearance) I bet these are the 13.5 inch shocks from the progressive site. Has anyone used the HD lowering shock kit http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444876453 4&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309448718&ASSORTMEN T%3C%3East_id=2534374309448718&locale=en_US&bmUID= 1331724621094&bmLocale=en_US&WebLogicSession=PgALd 52XDr1ULrfy2ratzecIyCbU1Y3Up7NXCnR3IDGR5RS9SCx8!-709217339!hiwpbmsp04.ihd.hd!7005!8005!133172449133 0

Those look like Progressive 440 shocks, mine are 12.5 440's and yours certainly look longer.
