I use the Magic eraser and Never-Dull on all my chrome. I mostly use my forwards so don't know much about boot burn.

any burns on pipes should be removed with EZ-Off oven cleaner. Heat the pipes, spray on protecting other areas, let cool, wipe off. Then polish. Do not use razor blade or wool!

A product named Bombs Away which can be purchased from
JP Cycles. It is also great for making alloy parts on your bike look
like chrome.

I have a lot of success with overn cleaner. To avoid overspray, I just spray some oven cleaner into a bowl and then dab it on the affected spots with a rag. Wait a few minutes, and then polish it clean. It works great. I found oven cleaner really cheap at Dollar General.

NEVER DULL on hot pipe. No scraches and wipes right off.

EZ-off oven cleaner sprayed onto a damp sponge. The pipes have to be heated up 1st. It takes just one or two light rubs and the boot marks vanish. There was no dulling or marring of the chrome finish either. But I've only had to do this once - I'm more careful these days where I set my feet
