Anyone running Andrews TW-37G gear drive cams....
in thier Dyna Super Glide? I'm going to gear drive cams this winter and would like to know how these perform ina Super Glide. I was thinking about the TW-26G's for the low end tourqe, but, hear that 37G's are better for lighter bikes like the Super Glide. I spend a lot of time in the 2000-3000rpm range, but, do take long tripsmonthly where I cruise around 70-75mph and 3000-3500rpm. I'd like to go to 95" andwork the heads at the same time, but, I don't have to funds for that now. Bottom line, willthe bike run smoothly in the lowerrpm rangewith the 37's? I plan on doing the top end work in a year or two. Any info or Super Glide dyno charts with 37's or 26's,top end work or not would be very helpful and greatly apreciated!

RE: Anyone running Andrews TW-37G gear drive cams....
I want to put the 37h (chain drive) cams in mine, and I'm in the same mode with the 95 kit. Idont want to changethe pistonsuntilits time to do the top end.I've been working in machine shopsmost of my life, so boreing out some juggs, and getting the heads ported isnt that big a deal, but does it really need it? I would really like to see a dyno sheetfrom someone running this grind in an otherwise stock 88 incher.

Tah Dah!!!
Santa has answered your request a few days early this year!!!!
Bike At Present:
2003 Super Glide
88 C.I.
Stock heads and intake
Dynojetted CV
SE Stage 1 Air Cleaner Assembly
Super Trapp SuperMegs 2:1 exhaust
S&S Cam Gear Drive
Andrews TW 37G cams
HP 79.66
TQ 88.49
Original cams ran out of steam way before rev limiter kicked in. After 37G install she runs like a raped ape until the stock ignition limiter hauls her back. From idle on up the bike screams, no loss of low end at all, but MAN, what a top end!! Whether riding alone or with the wife, no low end sacrificed.
The motor sounds completely different due to the increased overlap. She sounds like a motor out of an episode of American Chopper now, much more aggressive.
The local Harleyshop service manager stated that the 37G's would be perfect for a 95 C.I. upgrade with HTTC heads and pistons, but would be acceptable with the stock 88 C. I. components. I can not wait to see how the bike runs when I upgrade to 98 C.I. usingMillenium Cylinders and pistons. Not sure of the heads yet, but a Mikuni 45 MM carb is on the list.

RE: Anyone running Andrews TW-37G gear drive cams....
Not sure of the cost of the latest changes to my "Stage II" upgrade, have to get the price breakdown from the dealer.
I orginally was going to go with the HD 95 C.I. pistons and HTCC Ported heads with the Mikuni 45. Since BS'ing with the Service Manager at the dealership, and deciding on the Millenium 98 kit, I believe the cost will be about $400.00 more, but this may change as I am not sure of the type of heads.

S&S 510G on a stock compression 88 with untouched heads. With S.E. gear down kit and S.E. Pressure plate, 'Ness big sucka intake and S&S Mufflers, all I needed after that was the Stage I download for a raised RPM redline and timing bump, and then PC III to smooth her out at 13.7 A/F all the way across. Hauls a$$! Gear drive is the way to go! Make sure you upgrade to Torrington bearings when you do the cam swap. Also good idea to get the S&S oil reed valve to control oil psi.,and if you can afford it, upgrade to a Fueling oil pump. (DAMN I love these fat-heads!!!)

Tubz,
Here is a home-built I did last winter that includes the cam you are looking into and includes the dyno charts as well. This is a bike with low compression (under 10),ported stock heads, and stock ignition.

Oh yeah,... it goes. It's quite a bit "bumpier" in the low end at idle, but the power comes on quickly and smoothes out quickly as well.
