Couple years ago I was snoozing on a Saturday and enjoying the torrential downpour outside. Couple hours later, I woke up and was surprised it was still raining so hard, took a look outside and saw it was bright and sunny. Oh ****. Hot water heater in the garage blew a seam and was spraying high pressure against the drywall.

Super easy to swap out on my own.

A little tip to save some money: Ask your mail man for the "Mover's Pack", which is an envelope for folks about to or just completed moving. I always keep the Lowe's and HD gift cards (and Bass Pro, for that matter) in my truck and use them as I need them, and only use the coupon when the total is going to be 20 bucks or more.

 

Another tip...don't buy the water heater from lowes...the whirlpool water heater is one of the worst. Home depot's is made by Rheem which is one of the best and still made in America
