Default UPDATE:...1157 LED bulbs..

Update.... These (see below link) are insanely bright and well worth the money. I highly recommend these and NO you DO NOT need any load equalizer on the 2012 model...In case anyone wonders.

What do you guys think about using a red LED 1157 in the 12 wide glide? The lights I want to be as bright as possible when I brake, so I am thinking the LEd would be a better option. Plius I am going to use the smoke lenses so i need a red bulb.

Any experience or recommendations on bulbs? I have seen some 1157's that aren't much brighter on brake mode than it is on the tail light mode.

These might be the ones I need....http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Intensity.../dp/B000TK1TME

Thanks...Kevin

I have Radiantz, I bet they are the same bulbs. You do need a load equalizer though. They do make amber, white and red I believe.

I read somewhere that the 2012 won't require the load equalizer.... Can anyone confirm this??

Unless they came with LED turn signals from the factory you will need a load equalizer when installing LED turn signals...

I've got the Kuryakyn LED turn signal lights on my 09 FLHTCU and do not have the Load Equalizer installed .... it came with the kit but everything works fine without the equalizer installed .... just my .02 cents worth.

I'm running the LED bullet inserts, RBT module, and equalizer from Custom Dynamics, plus the HD LED tail light. They are on par with the Radiantz set up, and both systems do a fantastic job. Buddy of mine tried the 1157 LED bulbs, and they were crap. Spend the extra money & do it right. Since I installed mine, cagers don't crowd my a$$ end as much at traffic lights, and I don't have as many tailgaters. They are that bright.

"2011-2012 Softail , & 2012 Dynas With Can Bus does not require a Load Equalizer, Turn Signals will flash at proper rate."

I put in the super bright LED's in my rear turn sigs (now only used as brake lights). No equalizer and they are working fine.
