Default Exhaust question re: '06 and '07 Street Bob

A coworker was recently involved in a minor mishap where a dump truck backed over his bike (he managed to get off of it). So he is now in the market for a new bike and is interested in the '07 Street Bob. My question is, is there any difference between the exhaust setup between the '06 and '07? I have an extra set of SEII slip-ons which, if they will fit, I was going to give him.

Will these work on the '07? I know they made engine changes between the two years so I am not exactly sure if there will be any issue with fitment.

checking my parts catalogs... it looks like they are different. The same mufflers you have are listed in both 06 and 07 catalogs, and the part numbers are the same, but they are specific to 06. There is a whole different pipe for 07. I have no doubt Harley changed something so you can't just slap on a pair of 06's... might work, but could take some modification.

If those are the SEII hi flow ones he will have to remap for them. Because the SE exhaust for the 07 is different as they discontinued the SEII's in May 06 due to EPA regs. Those will cause a lean condition. In fact he may need to get a SE A/C and race tuner to re-map it properly because his engine is different as well.

Different displacement means that you need to get the exhaust out, so the pipes will have a bigger diameter.

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, he did not qualify for a loan for a Harley so it is no longer an issue. Thanks anyways.

I think I can help assuming you still need to give them away. I just happen to know this guy... Can't blame me for trying to help!
