Default New Rider, New Dyna!!

Momma has been riding on the back of my Street Glide for a couple seasons (when we lived in Alaska). Now, we live in Florida, and I convinced her to let me teach her to ride her own bike. A friend let us borrow a 2004 Triumph Speedmaster (pretty big bike for a woman thats 5'4"). Well ...after a few weeks of training on the Triumph, and a weekend at the local H-D shop for a MSF Training course (Florida requirement) ...she's got her endorsement!!

To celebrate (and as a Valentine's Gift) ...I treated her to a 2012 Dyna Super Glide Custom!! Man, what a sweet bike! And to top it off, she just had me order her a set of V&H 2-2 Big Radius pipes (since the instructors taught her "Loud Pipes Save Lives"!).

Guess I'll be hanging out in the Dyna Forum now, as well as the Touring Forum.

Nice, Tell her to enjoy, and be carefull. Wish my O.L. would ride, she has her permit and is going to take the safety course, but I don't think she will ride her own bike. Your a lucky man.

OK, the real question is, how many miles have you put on it so far, and do you let her ride your extra bike, other than for the photo shoot?

Thats cool as hell. I started mine off on a much smaller V-Star last year, but I believe she's going to be sick of it by the end of this year. We stop at the dealer ever so often and she is all about Softails, so I suspect her graduation to a bigger bike will be a Softy, but what the heck. If she's gonna be riding it, she's got to pick it out.

SteveO,
Yeah ...I put the first 50 miles on it! Told her I needed to make sure the "break-in" was done properly! That 96" in that sproty frame feels real good after 10K plus miles with the same engine in my Street Glide. But the fairing does have me spoiled. I forgot what it was like to ride with a "parachute stapped to my back"!

Those bars are great around town but I didn't dig them on the freeway, narrower bars fixed that parachute on the back problem for me. Congrats to your OL, she has great taste in bikes.

Gonna be rough knowing your OL has a cooler bike than you do. Congrats.

Ha. Yup. I love my street bob.
My girl got her bike permit last summer. I got tired of her on the back of my bike. Told her that she should learn to ride and I would buy her a bike. She had her leathers the next afternoon.
That's a great bike. I bought my girl a Honda nighthawk to cut her teeth on. I still had my v-star but it was too much bike for her. She handles the nighthawk really well, and now I have a partner on the road with me.
Both on bikes is a great bonding experience. My partner in life is now my wingman,no longer just tagging along for the ride, she is also helping lead.
Good on you and her. Enjoy the journey
