Default Exhaust and mapping

I'm looking at getting some dyno power slip ons for my super glide and the big sucker stage one. What I'm wondering is I want to put on the vance and hines fuel pack on it, and want to know if I have to take it to the dealership to have it mapped or not. Just wondering, because I have seen some reviews thats some people that have done this with out mapping. Can some one shed some light on this for me.

My buddy got one and all he did was call Vance and Hines and they told him the code to punch in for his set-up. He said it was the easiest thing he did to his bike :-)
