I just replace my left grip. I went to my local HD and got a small tube of grip glue. I used a few drops which helped slide on and position correctly. An hour later it was solid. Never used hair spray.

I planned on never changing my grips, so I used lock tite. Turns out, I changed my mind. But I still have the same grips. Lock tite works too well. I don't advise it.

I've always used hairspray. I remember when I was little and getting new grips on my bmx bike. The guy in the shop used it. I've had other friends over the years use it as well. Best thing is that it holds good, but isn't permanent if you screw up or want to change bars.

Get the cheapest CFC filled aerosol can of hairspray you can find, spray inside the grip, spray the bar and jam it on there - in a few minutes it will set firmly in place. Any of these other methods are much more permanent.

The only thing I've used is gasoline. On a off road bike I also use tie wire.
