how tough is it to do your own oil changes?

RE: how tough is it to do your own oil changes?
I bought a tray from jp cycles to catch the oil from the filter and it woks pretty good. I bought a filter wrench from the motor company after trying a cheap one from a parts place. Worth every penny. A few dollars for a couple of tools will save you lots down the road.

This is an awesome trick, much less messier to the bike.
If you cut the bottom of a 2-liter bottle and cut a wide slit on the side of the bottle to get your hands in, this will slip around the filter so you can take it off and the oil will go in the top of the capped bottle. This is much easier than using tin-foil shaped to funnel oil to the oil bucket.

LMAO
I can see it taking more that two to change the oil.It really all depends on how strong you guys are.
Heres MY method.
1.Buy the oil and filter from the dealer of your choice.
2.Buy a case and a half of Becks beer from the beer store of your choice.
3.Call up your buddies and repeat the following to the letter"Hey Buck,I gotta a casepointfive of Becks on the bench,ICE COLD.Wanna go ridin meet in my garage at noon."
4.Place the tools on the bench atop the beer around 11:45
5.No self respecting bro would drink a mans free beer without lending a hand changing the oil.Fake an end run into the house for an emergency phone call or whatever.
6.The oil change will be done when ya get back.
Itll only work once.............

I guess I must have misunderstood. When I change oil I do the engine, transmission, and primary all at the same time in which case you will have to hold the bike in an upright position to get the proper oil level in the primary. I would differ that being a 10 minuite job.

Oil changes are easy, use the manual. I will say that the most challenging thing is not spilling oil when removing the oil filter at least on my 06 SG with the CA emissions cansiter and forward controls..
