If you have a passenger, take off your backrest and lean on the passenger. That's what they're for.

The Mustang backrest is actually recessed where it attaches to the bar and gives more room than a regular pad. I don't think you will have a problem unless you and the passenger are XXL. I run the vintage wide 2 up with the Matching pad. I'm 6'3" 275lbs. And the wife isn't a 105lb. Waif. She doesn't have a problem with space at all. My sisy bar is lower and the pad is large, but doesn't look as big as yours. It's the one that matches the seat and it is 12 wide x 9 high. I also don't have a drivers backrest. Maybe that's the difference.

I have the same Mustang seat with the factory solo rack that has a seat that attaches to it. When I ride with a passenger I usually take off the front backrest because it makes the passenger have to sit with her legs too far apart.

yeah it just seems cramped with the driver backrest. I also need to get the mustang rear seat. Maybe that will free up some room but not much. im 6'3 230 she is 5'10 120. I guess will check it out on a nice day, when ever that is.

I have never had a complaint but eye balling it, looks cramped. I am also looking ebay over for a smaller backrest. but I do not want to make it less comfortable. This spring we have a 600 mile 1 day trip that I want her to be comfy for

Damn, other than you're taller/weigh more - that post could have came from me.

I too have been worried about space. I have the one they showed you from ebay. I like it. Its also nice to the extra storage space. Of course I have yet to get my wife on it.

If she can't fit, she don't ride. On to the next one.

thanks for the side shot of the switchback. looks good. Maybe I will just not ride with the backrest when she goes. Its not a matter of her fitting. I just want comfort for both of us for the longer hauls.
