Just got them on last night, but it seems like around 12-15 lbs will be fine to keep from bottoming out. From the ride around the block last night, they sure are a lot easier on the butt than the stock shocks.
I'm debating this on my WG. I have air shocks on my Sportster and know how much of a difference they make. What length did you go with on yours?

To tell the truth, I like the air shocks, but am worried about the bottoming out. I put 15 lbs in today, rode it to work, and did bottom out once. Don't know if it's just a matter of using the correct weight oil, but I hate to rely on air pressure which can leak, to support the bike. I figure with a passenger, it would bottom out too easy, so I'm going back to Progressive 11 inch. These are the shortest of the air shocks at 11.5" but I'm going to return them at a slight loss.

BTW, as far as the seat goes, it is surprisingly comfortable although I've only ridden on it today for a total of about 50 miles, it really is surprising. A real bargain IMHO.
