Default Need help with making a choice on V&H exhaust...Short shots or Straight Shots?

Going to get a full system for the Fat Bob...but I have been reading on the forum (searching) and seeing many say that I will lose some low end with the short shots. Will I keep the bottom end with straight shots? I plan to get a fuelpak also.

What would you all do if you had the choice?

Thanks,

B

big shot staggered...or better yet propipe 2-1. Anything but short shorts...one of the worst for performance and your ears will be ringing after a long ride. The exhaust dumps out right in your ear.

You can consider different baffles in the short shots.

Thumbs up

Ive have the straight shots on an 05 lowrider (88CI) with power commander since new
never a problem. The Straight shots are an older design but I have been happy
not to loud and an improvement over stock.
If I where to change pipes it would be a 2 to 1. (Pro Pipe?)

Thanks for all the inputs.....my wife likes to ride so I guess the Short Shots are not going to work. She still likes to hear! I like the look but will keep looking for now. Straight Shots are ok...but I like the Short Shots looks. Big Shots are nice...but a bit more money. Want to do the fuelpak so I need to stay within budget.

I had short shots on my old sporty and I hated them. About the only good thing about them is the looks. After a few months running them I started to literally get pain in my left ear after about 30 min on the bike. Get something other than short shots. Your wife will thank you later.
