Thinking of changing the front tire myself
#31
I've never done my motorcyle tire. But if I ever wear one out where I can get it at home I plan to. Seems I always have flats out of town and I have laced rims and just have it hauled to a shop for a new tire. But I know local guys who do all their tires. They even balance them statically on a simple plywood stand, but this video shows dyna beads which are good.
This is one of the better videos I've seen. You can get the tools at Harbor Freight except the bead breaker. I've seen local guys use a 2x4 wedged on something or a C-clamp whatever to break the bead.
MAKE SURE you use blocks under the tire (on floor) to protect brake discs etc. I've seen guys cut sections of water hose for rim protectors. Also can't remember if this video showed it or not but the local guys say to line up the tire DOT markings with the rim. I can't find that information handy but I'm sure if you google it you can find out the low down on it.
