Fat front tire on 04 wide glide?
Hey guys. I'm kicking around the idea of a fat front tire on my WG. Thinking ditch the 21 and go 19? 16? Anyway I am sure I am not the first to have this thought but haven't found much in the way of build threads or pics. Anyone done this or know someone who has? Don't get me wrong, I like my WG and I understand some of you will be offended as that is not the "spirit" of the WG but I still want to see it.

Fat Bob and Wide Glide triple trees are same width so forks are the same width at the axle ... you could try a FXDF fender (but, not sure the mounting holes on your lower fork sliders aligh the same) ...
The 16" wheel will fit though ... you could also just use your stock fender ... as it is narrower it might take a little getting used to ... since the wider tires are not as low profile, it should come fairly close to filling it out .....
Only thing to really think about is the size of the wheel bearings and which axle you've got ... you'll just have to make sure you use the right bearings and on some wheels you might need to machine out a little of the hub material to accomodate wider bearings or use spacers to accomodate narrower bearings ....
Go ahead on wit' your bad self ... do it ...!

edit - just noticed you said '04 FXDWG ... the FXDF fender might not fit without some modification to the mounting holes ... probably take a little trial and error or careful measuring to get it to work ....

What look are you interested in, since you mentioned a FLH front fender? There is a lot than can be done but you may want to pick a final look before you wander off into the fat tire wilderness. There is a lot of knowledge on this subject from the people who replied to you, just give a suggestion what final look you would like.
