Here's how I got mine out:

I stuffed a large 1.5" OD steel pipe into the inlet side and (upsidedown) kept slamming the muffler (exhaust side facing up) onto the ground (holding the pipe into it) 'till the baffle finally gave and slipped out the exhaust side... No damage to the chrome or the baffle. (Can't say the same for the mesh and packing)...

Think I'm gonna drill out the holes a size bigger and add a few more rows... The fiberglass and stainless mesh packing is definitely not going back in...

Hope to have some pics before I start the massacre...

I was reading this thread and decided to give it a try. Last Wednesday I tried taking the baffle out of mine. After beating on it for 20 minutes I look over at my BFH (big frigging sledge hammer) and said self better quit before you get aggravated and turn the whole thing into scrap metal. I ordered a set of Cobra Speedster Splashdowns 6857 for $469.95 including shipping. They will be here tomorrow.

I removed the SEII baffles from my heritage last week and installed the Big City Thunder Monster baffles. You don't have to remove the slip ons and beat the **** out of everything. You just need the proper technique and a three foot length of round steel bar. I picked up the steel rod at a local hardware store. Once home I bent a hook in one end and inserted it into the slip on, hooking it in the "spoon" looking indent in the baffle. Then I clamped a Vise Grip onto the rod and tapped the vise grip with a hammer. Second moderate tap and it popped right out. Kind of a home made slide hammer. The longest part was bending the steel rod. Getting the baffle out took seconds. You don't have to hit hard either.

Here's the baffles removed. The one on the bottom is unmodified. The top one has an additional 18 holes drilled into it. Not pictured is the stainless screen mesh and fiberglass packing.... Those will not be going back in...

...note to self: mark which baffle came out of which pipe or you'll be banging around for an hour before realizing the reason why the security screws don't line up...

You should be fine. Plenty of people do that which is kind of the equivalent to straight pipes and they are fine with no motor mods.
