Default Rush slip ons!! Will I regret it?

Well I'm not sure if I'm just passing the buck to you guys but I can't decide what to do.

Have a 09' fat bob and it needs to sound like a harley. The previous guy put on a SE intake and SE slip-ons from the dealer when new. It performs well but has hesitated on start up occasionlally and seems to run a little hot. The mufflers sound stock!

Due to personal reasons out of my control cash is a little tight. BUT, I did get a wicked deal on this bike last year and also want to do the Wideglide rear fender swap ($500 in parts here) this winter.

Do I spend the bucks on Rinehart Crossbacks with power Cammander III, (or V, or whatever), or do I put on a set of Rush 2" slip-ons with the rear fender mod? The Rush set will do me fine until cash becomes more available in the next couple of years. Though i was told I need a PC III due to the added intake. Is this true? If so I'm not saving a whole lot.

What to do????

I would go with the rinehart and worry about the fender later. You dont see it while you are riding and it will save you money in the long run.

Funny. I originally bought rush slipons 300 and got the stage 1 download 150. After 1 riding season i wound up getting a full system and a tuner. So my 300 and 150 was thrown out the window. So what i am saying is if you want a full system dont spend the money on the slipons. Save that money and buy a full system. Ultimatly you will be much happier at the end.

Definitely go with pontac's advise
better to have the money go toward a real exhaust not just better sound.
I ended up giving my Rush away after a year. $300.00 is allot to pay and just end up replacing anyway.
Xieds will help run cooler if you strapped for money and run better with the intake you have,
I ran the Xieds for a year till I could get a real tuner.

Save your money. I had rush 2.25 slip ons on my street bob for about six months. Now have a full rush system and could not be more satisfied.

Is it possible the guy did not even do the download? Even if he did, it would still be "EPA compliant" and lean because thats what dealers have to do.

Going with the controller will let you richen it up no matter what pipes you get.

Good luck!
