Default RE: air shocks on an FXDB 2011

Anyone having trouble keeping air in their shocks , or finding out this mod is more trouble than it is worth. I have a very small bag that I carry things in for my FXDB on trips and I don't really have room for an air pump. thanks for the information. Trying to decide on this mod or just saving for progressive 970 shocks.

There are no problems if you install the schrader valve correctly. Use teflon tape or some sort of pipe dope. I used some Permatex stuff and it held for me.

The dampening is not correct for a Dyna. Sure, it rides smooth. But you'll blow through the travel awfully easily. I have 13.5" Ricor shocks now...

Yeah, you should not be having problems with the air. I have had mine on a for a year now with no issues. Check the valves or get new ones as noted above.

Do you have caps on the valves? Not the cheap plastic caps, but stainless steel caps. The kind with with an O-ring in them. Solved my problem with air loss.

thanks for the replies everyone. I think I have decided to save for better handling shocks . I ride really hard when I get the chance and Im out on the road. might as well not scrimp on suspension parts. Appreciate everyones input.
